One of my favorite verses found in the bible is Romans 10:14-15 which reads "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news."
Through the course of this 2010 year I have felt called by God to go into dark places and tell people who did not know about the love of Jesus.Where I have felt the most compelled is downtown with the homeless, with young kids from rough neighborhoods and broken families, and young teens looking for guidance and belonging in a world full of labels and cliches. I simply share with these wonderful people: how my life has been changed with the love of Christ, how without my faith everything would be completely different, and how through faith I have gotten through the toughest times in my life. Sharing parts of my story with strangers, friends and family has confirmed in me that my story is important and it must be shared, but more than anything that other people have stories too and they want to share them, its important to stop in this crazy world of ours and listen to those around us. Some may cry out for help, some may ask for a favor, some may whisper a plea, no matter the request we must answer with love.
My heart has been broken for those that have seen hurt and experienced pain. My heart breaks for those that experience hurt and pain without knowing the love of Jesus that is why I feel it is so important to listen to the call that God has set for your life and do it! So many times I have felt convicted to take action, and this is the first time in my life that I feel like I am listening and letting God my life. I have given over control and am listening for guidance and praying for strength.
I want to encourage others with this blog, that your passion and call, no matter what it may be, is important and a key part of God's purpose. Follow the call and have beautiful feet. Pray for guidance and ask for wisdom.
